Girl’s Luncheon

Our APRIL Girl’s Luncheon will be Monday, April 8th, 11:30am at Hibachi Grill on W. Saginaw (in the former Hobby Lobby Plaza).  I’ve made our reservations and checked the current cost for the weekday senior luncheon. Lunch, which includes buffet and beverage, with automatic gratuity for group plus tax, brings it to $12 (just slightly under but rounding it up makes it easier to collect so I can pay just one bill to them to make it faster).

Upcoming Girl’s Luncheon Schedule

I know at our Girl’s Luncheons, we are often enjoying ourselves so much that figuring out where we are going to meet next, can be a challenge.  Since we rotate between several restaurants, I’ve looked at last year’s schedule and have come up with one for the remainder luncheons for April through December 2024.  This will give us more time to chat and not have to make decisions as well as let those that were not at a luncheon, know where the next one is.  They are all the 2nd Monday of the Month at 11:30am.  All the dates and locations will be both on our Everett Facebook Page as well as the Everett section of my website.

Informal Reunion for September, 2023

SAVE THE DATE – It’s time for our INFORMAL Reunion. Join us on Friday, September 8th, any time after 5pm at Corey’s Lounge on Cedar Street. Time to enjoy conversation, friends, and remember the good old Everett Days. Totally casual. Food and Beverages on own. For those who want to know, there is a home MSU football game that Saturday at 3:30pm against Richmond.

Thoughts about our 50 + 1 Reunion

What a great reunion weekend we had! Our ‘informal’ at Coreys was a huge success, thanks to Bill Corey. Bill, our server Lilly was incredible. Our Saturday morning tour at Everett was very enlightening. I heard comments that our days there seemed like the Dark Ages compared to all the technology they currently have. Our tour leaders were amazing. Our Main Event at the Ramada was a big success. We are so appreciative they were able to host us after our last minute cancellation of our original venue. They did an incredible job.

Tremendous thanks goes out to our Reunion Committee: Sue Beckner Mayes, Marc Bennetts, Dave Brigham, Sherrie Eastman Nunheimer, Kit Langenbacher Pull, Paula Munn Krauss, Steve Krauss, Diane Reck, and Gail Sawyer. Without their tremendous help, we could have not pulled this off. We had so many last minute challenges that we faced. Although the event planning was 31 months in the making, the biggest challenges all occurred in the last month.

Your thoughts of appreciation, kind words and gifts last night were truly unexpected and humbling. We are such a connected class. Over these past few days, what we have had for so many years, and continue to grow even further, makes me proud to be a Viking.

I see many of you are posting photos. Thank you for that! I’ll be posting photos soon. Most likely, they will be on my website (which I will list a link for that section). I’m also hoping to provide a link to the background side show that I put together for last night. Thanks to Dave Brigham for running that.

Again, many thanks to those of you who attended. We faced a lot of challenges but it was so good to see so many, share stories of the good old days, laugh and celebrate. We hope to see even more of you for our next one.

Your input is valuable if we are to continue to keep our class connected. There is a link at the bottom of my website where you can submit an email (which makes it easier than remembering my email address). I encourage all of you to let me know if your email address changes (and/or home addresses so I can update the database), you have information about “missing” classmates or if you have thoughts regarding upcoming events.

Thanks so much!
