In 1999, I started becoming involved with the reunion committee. There have been 6-10 classmates assisting me since this time. A BIG THANKS for their continued support. We are always looking for any fresh ideas on how we can keep the reunions so enjoyable.
At our event in 2010, attendees expressed an interest in gathering annually instead of just every five years. To keep it simple and familiar, we’ve been meeting at Corey’s Lounge on Cedar Street, usually mid August. In 2015, we switched to September which was favored by many as the summer vacations would be over and Fall is a beautiful time in Michigan. Thanks to classmate Bill Corey for always welcoming us. Our next larger gathering (if we continue the past trend) will be 2020.
Your feedback is always welcomed as to your preferences for these reunions. One challenge we have faced for the larger reunions, is coming up with a location in our area, that will provide us with a reasonably priced rental room and catering and that will still be in business when the time comes (because a large deposit is required and is usually non refundable). The events are on a ‘cost recovery’ basis, and we try our best to make them affordable to encourage a good attendance.
